If you're on this website, most likely you're in the process of or thinking of renouncing your Indonesian citizenship.
Before January 2020, renouncing Indonesian citizenship is pretty straightforward.
You could engage a law firm in Singapore that will handle all the processes for you. The popular option at that time is Tan, Lee & Choo law firm.
However, in January 2020, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia launched an online application, Sistem Administrasi Kewarganegaraan Elektronik, also known as SAKE.
The new application and process are confusing and poorly documented.
When going through my own renunciation process, I have to search Google, and Reddit, and ask others for help. A truly painful process.
Hence, I created Bye Indonesia.
A website where I consolidated information that has been shared around by the community plus my own experience. You'll also find a list of commonly asked questions that have been asked over time.
